Warranty, Returns and Product Services

Our goal is to produce beautiful, unique products of the highest possible quality.  We want every one of our customers to love their new cutting board so much that they share their positive experience with others.

In most cases, cutting boards from Kline Wood Design will last for many years with proper care and maintenance.  Of course, in the real world, occasionally something can happen where you are not 100% happy with the product, and in these cases we want to work with you to make it right whenever possible.

Please send an email to jonkline@klinewooddesign.com so we can discuss the appropriate options for your situation.

Warranty Policy

Kline Wood Design cutting boards are covered by a 3-year limited warranty against workmanship defects or product defects under normal usage conditions and recommended care and maintenance*.  If the product is found defective, Kline Wood Design will either repair or replace the item for the customer.

The following are not covered under this warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear from using the board for intended purpose (i.e. knife marks)
  • Intentional or accidental damage to the cutting board outside of normal usage (i.e. board gets dropped)
  • Splitting or cracking of the board’s wood due to inadequate oiling of cutting board
  • Damage due to putting the cutting board into a dishwasher
  • Damage due to exposing the cutting board to extreme heat or open flame
  • Damage, warping or cracking due to soaking the cutting board in water
  • Damage, warping or cracking due to storing the cutting board in an excessively damp or humid environment

*We include the Care and Maintenance Instructions with every board shipped.  A downloadable version of these instructions can be found here: Care and Maintenance

Return Policy

Please contact us prior to returning your item so that we can determine the right solution for your situation and make arrangements.  Return specifics will vary case by case; here are some typical examples and guidelines:

  • You just received your new board, and you don’t love it. We always try to provide a great description and lots of pictures so you can pick out the perfect board, but if the real thing is not quite what you thought, please let us fix it… Just don’t use the board.  Contact us and we will arrange a replacement or a refund when you send back your unused, like-new cutting board.
  • You are returning a board for an approved warranty repair or replacement. Send it back to us and we’ll take care of it.  Shipping is on us.
  • You are returning a board for a pre-arranged repair or restoration service (non-warranty). Send it back to us and we’ll take care of it.  We will ask that you cover the shipping.

Repair and restore services

Accidents happen, things get dropped, and well-intentioned in-laws might not know that your artisan board never goes into the dishwasher.  Or maybe you have chopped so many onions and jalapeños that your well-used board is starting to show its age a bit…  The good news is that in many cases a worn or damaged board can be flattened, repaired, or restored to look as good as new (or at least a whole lot better).  Please contact us and send some pictures of your board’s condition. We will let you know if the board can be restored and what the cost of the service will be.
